  225. Zaman geçtikçe ve ilerledikçe hayvan yemi ya da hayvan mamalarının çeşitlerinde artış görülmektedir. Sadece çeşitlerinde de değil hayvan yemi ya da hayvan maması üreten markaların sayısında da büyük bir artış görülmektedir. Bu artışın en temel sebebi hayvanlara verilen değerin gün geçtikçe artmasıdır. Bu durum hayvan yemi veya hayvan maması üreten markaların sayısındaki artışa ve hayvan yemi ya da hayvan maması çeşitlerinin artışına neden olan bir etkendir. Hayvan yemi ya da hayvan maması üreten markaların sayısındaki artış ne kadar olumlu bir durum gibi gözükse de aslında öyle olmamaktadır. Bazı markalar kalitesiz ürün satmaktadır ve bu kalitesiz ürünler yüzünden hayvan sağlığı olumsuz etkilenmektedir. Böyle bir olumsuz durum ile karşılaşmamak için de seçilecek olan hayvan yemi ya da hayvan maması markası oldukça dikkatli ve detaylı bir araştırma sonucunda seçilmelidir. Araştırma yapılan markalar için dikkat edilmesi gereken en ilk durum markaların kullanmış olduğu ürünlerin kalitesidir. Kalitesi zayıf olan mama ya da yem markaları kesinlikle tercih edilmemelidir. Hayvan besleyen kişilere bu araştırma konusunda oldukça zor bir görev düşmektedir. Hiçbir hayvan besleyen kişi hayvanına bir zarar gelmesini istemediği için mama markasına da çok dikkat etmelidir. Bu durumda kaliteli hayvan yemi ya da hayvan mamaları üreten markaların seçileceği gibi hayvan besleyicileri tarafından da sıklıkla tercih edilen hayvan yemi ya da hayvan maması markası tercih edilebilir. Bazı markaların da özellikle belirli hayvanlar için üretmiş olduğu yem ya da mamaları markanın diğer ürünlerine göre daha çok tercih edilmektedir. Bu duruma örnek olarak acana köpek maması örnek verilebilir. Özellikle de köpek besleyenler tarafından Acana markası diğer markalara göre daha çok tercih edilmektedir.
